Now that you are in college and living in a dorm, you want to make your new pied-a-terre into comfortable living space. To be able to do that properly, however, you need a refrigerator to store your food and drink and keep it fresh. The only drawback is that sharing an apartment with several other students means a shortage of living space. But you would rather not throw your own stuff into the black hole of a communal fridge. So what do you do? The answer is to find a dorm refrigerator, and to do that you need to understand a few things about dorm refrigerators.
Dorm refrigerators are compact and don’t take up too much living space. You can get them in various sizes and types, models, and with a range of different features. Some of them even come in stainless steel, making them look far more sophisticated than the old-fashioned dorm fridge.
When looking at dorm refrigerators, the first thing you have to take into account is where you are going to put it. Then you must measure that space so that you know exactly the size of fridge that you are able to get. This is especially an issue if you are a struggling college student trying to get by on a few grants, loans, and part-time jobs that you can find along the way.
The simplest dorm refrigerators can be as low-priced as $50 or $300, but if you want the “all singing, all dancing” type of fridge that can set you back as much as $1,000. Is it really necessary to spend so much money on a small fridge for one person? Maybe it isn’t a problem for you and that’s what you want. But for most people, and especially students, that might be a little too pricey.
